Ali Wylie is a Toronto-based actor, comedian and writer. Born and raised in Calgary, she graduated with a BFA in Theatre from the University of Lethbridge and moved to Toronto where she became involved in the comedy scene. After completing sketch writing and improv training programs at The Second City, she joined long-standing improv group Big in Japan and in 2011, the Canadian Comedy Award-winning The Sketchersons. She also writes and performs with award-winning sketch ensemble The Flirty Boys (along with Ann Pornel, Allison Hogg, and Alessandra Vite).
She's been featured in comedy festivals across North America including JFL42, TOSketchfest, Montréal Sketchfest, Vancouver International Improv Festival and the Del Close Marathon. She's appeared in popular webseries' Versus Valerie and Gay Nerds (OutTV) and in an assortment of your fave commercials. Ali can also be seen on Food Network's Food's Greatest Hits and Taste Testers.
Ali’s writing is fast-paced, smart, and silly with a high joke-per-minute ratio and quippy dialogue. She loves to write good-hearted, confidently stupid characters who thrive in grounded situations where the vibe is just a liiiittle bit off.
She speaks French and a touch of Spanish (especially at parties), can ride a unicycle and was once a professional taste-tester for a popular Chinese food buffet chain. She knows her way around a crafting room and bakes a mean pumpkin pie.
